National Farmers Union

The installation of a 36kWp solar PV system by ICB (Projects) Ltd on the new £2 million Conference Centre at the National Farmers Union (NFU) HQ in Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire could generate as much as £252,000 from the Government Feed-in-Tariff.

Completed in February 2012, ICB (Projects) Ltd  installed a total of 288 Inventux Thin-Film modules – which continue to work extremely well even in low light – onto the flat roof of the single-storey, steel framed conference centre.

To provide the ideal base for a solar installation as well as offering world class waterproofing qualities, specialist contractor Stoneleigh Services Ltd applied approximately 800m2 of alwitra’s EVALON® V roofing membrane. The use of the ultralight ICBSOLAR fixing system then made it possible to attach all 288 solar panels without any penetration of the high performance membrane.

Thanks to the Government Feed-in Tariff, which offers a guaranteed financial return for renewable electricity generation, the Inventux solar system is expected to repay the NFU’s initial investment in a little over eight years. If operating to full capacity, the system could make the NFU more than £250,000 over the 25 year period of the tariff.
